The Giving Grove Wakes for Spring with a New Look
Spring is a time for new awakenings!
April marks new beginnings for many things in our lives. As the blossoms erupt on fruit trees, songbirds call to the new day, and plantlings emerge from the soil, The Giving Grove awakens from the dormant season with a fresh new look.
The Giving Grove’s Smiling Apple
The founders of The Giving Grove developed the original logo with support from a creative agency. They aimed to create a playful and approachable logo representative of the fruit we grow. For ten years, this logo has served our organization well! Our stewards and volunteers have loved the friendly smile of our apple. The playful font felt welcoming to children at school orchards. But as our organization has grown, the mission has grown as well. It was time to shine up the apple and tell a new story!

Introducing our *New Look*
You will notice that our new logo has some similarities with the original. We didn’t want to lose the sweetness of our original and brought those aspects to the new branding. The colors, the tagline, and the apple have stayed mostly the same, but we have added a city skyline and a multi-fruit fruit tree. These new aspects of our logo help tell a bigger story about our organization:
City Skyline: The Giving Grove is an urban orcharding organization. Our orchards do not look like a single-fruit orchard on a farm. Each is unique to its neighborhood and community. And, because they are planted in an urban setting, they are more compact and offer a great variety of fruits, nuts, and berries. We like that the new logo shows that aspect of our program.
Multi-fruit Fruit Tree: Giving Grove programs arguably plant as many, if not more, pears than apples! While you won’t find Giving Grove trees growing apples and pears simultaneously, we liked the idea of representing multiple fruits.
Now let’s show our new look off!
We are thrilled with our new logo and are showing it off as much as possible! New t-shirts, stickers, and pins are here and you will see us rocking those everywhere we go!
One of our favorite ways to share our new look is with stickers! We have two styles of stickers that are great for water bottles, laptop covers, tool markers, or any flat surface! We purchase ours from our favorite sticker maker, Sticker Mule.
